Chicago's Best Hot Wings!

On a cold and blustery February day over 40 restaurants gathered at "Slow Down Life's too Short" on the banks of the Chicago River for Chicago’s first annual WingFest. The competition was stiff and the stakes were high, for the winner of this highly contested battle would hold bragging rights for the upcoming year.

The judges were perplexed when each of them was asked to sign a release. There had been too many bleeding ulcers and too many lawsuits not to take every precaution. As one judge said, "Those are the best damn wings I've ever tasted, but for the love of everything holy, my ears are burning, my eyebrows sweating, and I just can't stop crying!"

Restaurants such as Joe's on Weed, Alumni Club, and Goose Island Brewing Company gave Cactus a run for its money. But in the end, there could be only one champion. On that glorious day, Chicago, and the rest of the world, found out what the traders, brokers, and Cactus regulars have always known: there are no better wings in the city of Chicago then Cactus “Death Valley” chicken wings.
